MVP-9000i Programming Instructions

Necessary tools:
NETLINX Studio (if upgrading via Master or Virtual Master)
USB cable (if upgrading via USB and virtual master)
USB flash disk and USB A to mini A adapter (if upgrading via USB flash drive through OTG port)
Micro SD card (if upgrading via micro SD)
Table Docking Station and POE+ (if upgrading via Ethernet of USB flash drive)
Wall Docking Station and POE+ (if upgrading via Ethernet)
WiFi connection information (if upgrading via Wireless)


NOTE: It is recommended that the panel be on external power (either power supply or docking station) while
upgrading firmware.  The upgrade will fail if not on external power and battery level is less than 30 percent.


Necessary files:

SW5967-01-KIT (SW5967-01-MVP9000i_v2.86.62.zip) containing:
   - SW5967-01-KIT Programming Instructions.txt (this file)
   - fg5967-01-Readme.txt (release notes)
   - SW5967-01_MVP9000i_v2_86_62.kit


Firmware Upgrade Preparation:

1) Extract the zip file "SW5967-01_MVP9000i_v2_86_62.zip".
2) This shall create "SW5967-01_MVP9000i_v2_86_62.kit" and "SW5967-01-KIT Programming Instructions.txt".


Option 1: Upgrading via USB flash drive:

1) Insert the USB flash drive in PC USB port.
2) Create a directory called mvp-9000i or MVP-9000i if it does not exist.
3) Copy "SW5967-01_MVP9000i_v2_86_62.kit" in this directory (NOTE: Make sure this is the only .kit file in this directory).
4) Eject or unmount the flash drive.
5) Connect the Flash drive using the A-mini A adapter to the OTG port of the panel.
6) Reboot the panel.
7) Once the panel is booted, go to options in protected setup and select "Install Firmware" button, then the "New" button.
8) The install Popup shall display the name "SW5967-01_MVP9000i_v2_86_62.kit". Select "Yes" after 5 seconds when the button is activated.
9) Follow the directions displayed on the popup.
10) Once the panel reboots it will perform the firmware upgrade.


Option 2: Upgrading via USB flash drive through Table Docking Station:

1) Insert the USB flash drive in PC USB port.
2) Create a directory called mvp-9000i or MVP-9000i if it does not exist.
3) Copy "SW5967-01_MVP9000i_v2_86_62.kit" in this directory (NOTE: Make sure this is the only .kit file in this directory).
4) Eject or unmount the flash drive.
5) With the MVP-9000i docked fully in a TDS, insert the USB flash drive in one of its USB hub ports.
6) Select options in protected setup and select "install Firmware" button, then the "New" button.
7) The install Popup shall display the name "SW5967-01_MVP9000i_v2_86_62.kit". Select "Yes" after 5 seconds when the button is activated.
8) Follow the directions displayed on the popup.
9) Once the panel reboots it will perform the firmware upgrade.


Option 3: Upgrading via micro SD drive:

1) Insert the micro SD in a card reader connected to PC.
2) Create a directory called mvp-9000i or MVP-9000i if it does not exist.
3) Copy "SW5967-01_MVP9000i_v2_86_62.kit" in this directory (NOTE: Make sure this is the only .kit file in this directory).
4) Eject or unmount the micro SD.
5) Insert the micro SD in the user micro SD card on the bottom left side of the panel.
6) Select options in protected setup and select "install Firmware" button, then the "New" button.
8) The install Popup shall display the name "SW5967-01_MVP9000i_v2_86_62.kit". Select "Yes" after 5 seconds when the button is activated.
9) Follow the directions displayed on the popup.
10) Once the panel reboots it will perform the firmware upgrade.


Option 4: Upgrading via NETLINX

1) Once the MVP-9000i is booted, select the appropriate method for master connection.
2) Ensure the reboot device button is checked.
3) Begin the upgrade by downloading the "SW5967-01_MVP9000i_v2_86_62.kit".
4) Once the panel reboots it will perform the firmware upgrade.


Option 5: Emergency Upgrade or FW recovery using micro SD or USB flash drive:

1) Create a USB or micro SD FW upgrade drive using steps listed in Option1 or Option2.
2) Insert the USB flash drive or micro SD containing the appropriate FW in the OTG port, TDS usb host port, or user micro SD slot.
3) Reboot the panel and when the message Touch the screen to initiate Firmware upgrade appears touch anywhere on the display.
4) Once the touch is detected,  the Firmware upgrade will commence and the panel shall upgrade to the new FW provided in the USB flash drive or micro SD.


NOTE: The MVP-9000i supports the option to revert to either the factory installed firmware or the previously installed firmware version at
any time by accessing the "Install Firmware" button under "System and Panel Options".  A reset to factory firmware can also be performed on 
an emergency basis without full bootup by holding the screen on startup (make sure there is not a micro SD card or USB drive inserted first).
